As a makeup artist you need to be in the know and have the top performing products in your makeup kit. Whether its a celebrity for a red carpet, a bride on her most important day, or for an actor about go infront of camera, your products need to be what I relay on to create the right look on many different people and job requirements. Luckily being freelance working with many different people and productions and a complete makeup obsessive this comes as a pleasure to research and buy!
I’ve been using the Armani Luminous Silk foundations for years in my kit. I first got introduced to them by working with a great makeup artist Maria Compretto who works alongside Val Garland and a regular on her teams for runway I learnt from the best! We also used them for our artists on Hollyoakes – so I knew they were a firm inside favourite for myself and many creatives, my brides loved them too from their trials.
After a while though you have to keep seeking new products and testing new ones, the cosmetics industry moves fast with more exciting and improved performing products. Were the Armani ones still the best? I went shopping to find out:
For a good budget buy, try L’Oreal True Match Foundation £9.99
For enhanced skin texture glow try Nars Sheer Glow Foundation £24
My favourite Double Wear Light £29.50 – Loved this getting the whole colour range for my kit! Buildable, sheer yet gives great coverage where needed
I was so thrilled with my new finds, I couldn’t resit a little treat, see Lipstick Queen in Party Privy piuctured above . I fell in love with the colour and took it immediately to the counter at SpaceNK, I nearly chocked when the sales assistant asked for £35!!! Although on the expensive side, I have to admit I’m totally in love, its pigment rich yet feather light, matt and moisterising with peppermint oil, pure Hollywood glamour and the gold magnetic bullet is a treasure in your makeup bag. x
